ZOOMLION Leads Release of Two National Crane Standards
Recently, two national standards in the crane industry led by ZOOMLION were officially released by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China. The two standards are GB/T 45680 Cranes — Wind Load Calculation (ISO 4302:2016, MOD) and GB/T 20863.2 Cranes — Classification — Part 2: Mobile Cranes (ISO 4031-2:2020, IDT). They are closely aligned with international standards and provide more precise technical guidance for the industry.

GB/T 20863.2 adopts the IDT method and fully introduces the international mobile crane classification system into China. Compared with the previous version, the new standard improves the classification principles, working cycle definitions, and adds classification for components and mechanisms, making the system more detailed and operable. Its implementation will help unify domestic standards and reduce technical barriers in export markets.
GB/T 45680 is based on ISO 4302:2016 and has been optimized according to China’s terrain and climate conditions. The standard incorporates local wind data and adds correction formulas for special regions, providing more accurate guidance for wind load calculation and improving crane safety under complex working conditions.
During the formulation of the two standards, ZOOMLION coordinated the work scientifically and rigorously, integrating international standards and domestic practical experience. Both standards have now been officially released and entered the implementation transition period, and ZOOMLION will continue to participate in international and domestic standardization work in the future.
